Online pharmacy options compared: 1mg, PharmEasy, Netmeds and more
Ordering medicines online should be simple and safe. This guide compares five Indian platforms on the ordering experience: how prescriptions are handled, what else you can book, how you track orders and how you reach support. It deliberately does not compare medicine prices or discounts, which change daily and differ by location.
Disclosure: This page is published by AV Pharma (D&D Technology), which is one of the options discussed. Last updated: . Methodology: facts and prices come only from each vendor's official website, checked on 27–28 Oct 2026 and linked in the sources; prices are "as of" that date, and anything a vendor does not publish is marked "Not publicly available". Where a competitor is the stronger fit, we say so in the sections below.
Disclosure: This guide is published by AV Pharma, a healthcare platform run by D&D Technology, Jaipur. AV Pharma is one of the options compared. Competitor facts were checked on their official sites on 27 Oct 2026 (as of Oct 2026) and may change; follow the source links before you decide.

What to compare (and what not to)
Discounts are the loudest part of pharmacy advertising, but they are the least reliable thing to compare: they vary by medicine, by PIN code and by day, and the cheapest option is not always available when you need it. The things that stay true are how a platform handles your prescription, what services it offers, how you track orders and how you reach a person when something goes wrong.
- Prescription handling: does the platform check the prescription before confirming?
- Availability: do you know before paying whether the item can be delivered to you?
- Other services: lab tests, doctor consultations, records and reminders.
- Tracking: can you follow orders and appointments in one place?
- Support: phone, WhatsApp, email and a clear returns policy.

Tata 1mg
Tata 1mg's terms explain that prescription drugs from third-party pharmacies need a scanned valid prescription, and that a substitute is processed only if the doctor permits it or the prescription lists only salt names. Lab tests with home sample collection and online consultations are also offered.
PharmEasy
PharmEasy's prescription flow is designed for people who do not want to search medicine names: upload a photo of the prescription, add an address, and PharmEasy calls to confirm. It also lists lab tests, health packages and doctor consultations.
Netmeds
Netmeds' homepage is built around browsing medicines and many wellness categories, from Ayurveda and homeopathy to devices and mother-and-baby care, plus lab tests. Prescription upload and consultations were not shown on the homepage we checked, so look inside the app or site.
Apollo 24|7
Apollo 24|7 links pharmacy orders with online consultations by chat, call or video, home sample collection for lab tests and a digital records vault. It also offers memberships.
AV Pharma
AV Pharma, the publisher of this guide, focuses on a predictable ordering flow: check your PIN code, see availability confirmed before checkout, upload a prescription that is reviewed before confirmation, then track updates. The same account holds doctor consultation requests, lab test bookings, records and reminders, and phone and WhatsApp support is listed as 24x7. It is a newer, smaller platform than the others, coverage depends on PIN code, and the app is Android only.
Good habits when ordering medicines online
- Keep a clear photo of each valid prescription, with the doctor's name and registration visible.
- Order repeat medicines a few days early, in case an item is unavailable at your PIN code.
- On delivery, check the seal, batch number, expiry date and strength before accepting.
- Never change a brand, dose or medicine on your own because a substitute is cheaper; ask your doctor.
- Keep invoices; they help with returns, insurance claims and your doctor's records.
Online pharmacies make ordering easier. Decisions about which medicine to take, and how much, belong to your doctor.
Sources and how we checked
We compared only the services and ordering steps each platform describes on its official website, checked on 27 Oct 2026. We deliberately do not compare medicine prices or discounts, because prices change daily and vary by PIN code, and we do not make any claim about medicines or health outcomes. Tata 1mg's homepage blocked our checker, so its details come from its own terms, lab-test and app pages. "Not publicly listed" means we could not see the item on the official page we checked.
